MRI

 

Last Friday, just 2 days after Emily had her cast put on, my mom and I were back at CCHMC with Emily for a full brain/full spine MRI under general anesthesia again. The whole MRI took every bit of 2 hours. She was a little bit more relaxed this time when receiving her anesthesia and woke up less upset then the first time.

 

 

It may seem odd to have an MRI after the cast but our doc was confident that Emily did not have an underlying reason for her infantile scoliosis based off looking at her xrays and seeing her in person.  He ordered the spine MRI to go along with the MRI that was ordered by our neurologist since we were having that done anyways because of her seizures.  It turns out that Dr. Sturm was right!  I received the call that her spine MRI came back normal confirming her scoliosis is indeed Ideopathic.   I was so happy to get this news!  I haven't heard back from Neurology yet...still hoping that MRI is normal too.
